Meet the new OPI DS Raw Granite Polishes!

Hope you're all having a good weekend, or whatever day you're reading this!
Despite my ailments I'm trucking along.
As for nails - well...I have some awesome new OPI DS polishes to show you!
These are a bit different than the DS line we are used to from years past, these are somewhere between a matte glitter polish and a textured polish. I say in between because the texture on these is almost unnoticeable, you can barely feel it and you can't see it really at all. I also have a comparison with other close textures!

OPI - DS Lapis
OPI - DS Pewter

First up is DS Lapis - a stunning cobalt/navy blue with silver and black particles. These are inspired by "raw granite" and definitely look as so. Its kind of how you would imagine granite if it was blue instead of the standard grey color. Google blue granite and you will some stuff very similar to this in fact!

This is just...RICH. It dries FAST, it dries MATTE and it took ONE COAT. Thats all the win I need.

It has the slightest bit of texture to the touch, I think you could slap a matte top coat over this to get it smooth and keep its natural effect. Or glossy is gorgeous too...but I didn't do that today because lots of people have already done it...instead I opted to show you some comparisons....

So let's see how DS Lapis stacks up against the new liquid sand, Alcatraz Rocks.

Both shown at 1 coat and no top coats. DS Lapis is clearly a more heathered blue with black and silver bits, where Alcatraz is loaded with the gold and purple bits and has a lot more sparkle pizazz.

Alcatraz is also 2-3 times more textured as well. In look and feel. Both gorgeous in their own right. I couldn't pick a favorite to be honest.

And the other new DS is DS Pewter. A dark grey/light black jelly full of silver microglitter and slightly bigger pieces too.

DS Pewter took two coats and was way less black than in the bottle. Each coat darkens it some but I don't think you can get it black black. Same feel and look as DS Lapis, slight texture with beautiful matte effect.

It reminds me of hammered metal, that metal that is a dark gunmetal but pocked with black marks. Very mineral-like.

And now I will show you a comparison between DS Pewter and Nicole by OPI A-Nise Treat.

Each shown at 2 coats with no top coats. You can see A-Nise Treat has uniform particles and is more textured. It is also much blacker in depth.

Same as before...both share a matte finish but the Gumdrops and Liquid Sands have more texture and more sparkle than these DS polishes do. They will grab more twinkle with top coat, but I quite love the matte effect as is!
