OPI Holiday 2013 Full Collection Review

Holy jamolies do I have a post for you today.

It's certainly no secret that the new holiday collection by OPI featuring Mariah Carey is out all over the internet and hitting stores - well today I have the ENTIRE 18 piece collection to share with you.

I contemplated splitting it into 2 or even 3 parts because, well, its a HUGE collection...but in the end I decided to just show you the whole thing.

You could theoretically split this collection into 3 sections - The Liquid Sands, The Reds and The Rest.  There is just about something for everyone here, even people who think they have every red they could ever need. There are also probably a few skips, ones that look like some of the SF collection reds, some that look like older reds and burgundies. As for me...I don't own a lot of red, so I can find a place for them all here. You might or might not be that way. Either way - let's get started....

I'm going to start with the cremes, shimmers and glitters:

First up is Cute Little Vixen:

Cute Little Vixen is right on the verge of being a full blown duochrome polish. She has a subtle shift you can catch in certain lights that makes you unclear on whether she is red or pink.

Sometimes she can be a gorgeous nearly fuchsia....

And then she pulls a red number on you. 2 coats, no top coat.

Warm Me Up:

Warm Me Up is another chameleon-esque polish. There are hints of grey, brown, olive, and a silver sheen.

Depending on the lighting you can see a cool leaning cup of coffee, other times she shifts much more grey/green/olive.

And then this - a gorgeous blast of silver peeks out...2 coats no top coat.

Underneath the Mistletoe

Underneath the Mistletoe is a stunning red jelly shimmer that oozes with silver sparkles.

The red jelly covers up most of that silver to show gorgeous depth of red and pink sparkle.

Shown at 2 coats with no top coat.

All I Want for Christmas (Is OPI)

All I Want for Christmas (Is OPI) is your standard holiday red creme. She goes great with everything and we all want to be her friend.

She falls right in the middle of light and dark, and at times she walks on that fine line between classy and vampy.

This is 2 coats with no top coat.

In My Santa Suit

In My Santa Suit is a beautiful classic red shimmer. She is the sexier sister to All I Want for Christmas.

This one reminded me alot of I'm Not Really a Waitress, but I don't think I have that one anymore...either way - shimmer in this is spectacular.

She glows from within - 2 coats, no top coat.

Sleigh Ride for Two

Sleigh Ride for Two is a dusty eggplant color, with a very interesting pinkish/brown shimmer hiding below the surface.

This is not a super original shade, but if you don't already have a color like this in your collection, it IS a must have. Definitely one of my favorites in this collection.

Shown at 2 coats with no top coat.

Visions of Love

Visions of Love is all vamp. A deep dark burgundy that everyone needs to own. The color that goes perfect with anything and any nail shape and length.

This polish was flawless in shine. No top coat, this is just pure natural beauty.

Another must have, standout.

Ski Slope Sweetie

Ski Slope Sweetie is a white based polish that exudes interest. It is a little on the sheer side, needing 3 coats for near opacity, but in its sheerness is its versatility - you could layer this over countless polishes I'm sure.

There is a bold yellow gold shimmer that goes through this polish, making it cool and warm at the same time.

Shown here at 3 coats, no top coat.

My Favorite Ornament

My Favorite Ornament is another great layering polish that runs slightly sheer. I layered this one over Ski Slope Sweetie. It has a gorgeous, smooth, mesh type of glitter feel to it.

This is great for a very tame/neutral event, when you like gold but don't want to get too bold with it.

This is 1 coat over Ski Slope Sweetie, with no top coat.

All Sparkly and Gold

All Sparkly and Gold definitely felt like it should have been in the Liquid Sand section of this collection. It was a full coverage glitter with a slightly textured finished.

More of a warm toned gold here, very versatile and looks great with or without top coat, as its glitter really sparkles.

Shown here at 2 coats, no top coat.

I Snow You Love Me

I Snow You Love Me is the glitter topper of the collection - huge round silver holo glitters in a clear base. The glitters seem to be colored a holographic design because this baby sparkles everywhere.

This is NOT an easy polish for a beginner. This is NOT a polish you can just brush on. I found the best way to tackle this polish was to glob a bunch out on something you don't mind getting polish all over (like a piece of paper or plastic) and then I picked the glitters up one by one with a dotting tool and placed them onto my nail.

I've shown I Snow You Love Me here over the Liquid Sand It's Frosty Outside

Wonderous Star

Wonderous Star is another sheerish formula polish that is oozing with gold sparkle and black hex glitters.

It's very sparkly and demure at the same time, and somehow it still gets a bit edgy with the black particles.

I've shown it here in one coat over the Liquid Sand Emotions.

Now let's check out the fan favorite Liquid Sands:

It's Frosty Outside

It's Frosty Outside is yet another chameleon polish here - changing from silver to champagne in certain lights.

She contains silver texture base and larger silver glitters.

See what I mean? She's gold, she's silver...she's like Wonder Woman. Shown here at 2 coats, no top coat.

Silent Stars Go By

Speaking of champagne, here we have Silent Stars Go By...a beautiful pale neutral texture.

This one is a bit more uniform in its glitter sizes and produces a lovely texture. She also has a bit of a two tone appearance seeming to have a bit of silver scattered throughout.

Shown here at 2 coats, no top coat.

Make Him Mine

Make Him Mine  - it may look near identical as Silent Stars Go By, but I assure you, this is a darker more copper version, and she has a bit more chunky glitter as well.

It would appear she shares the same qualities as Silent Stars in that she seems to have a bit of silver behind the scenes.

Shown at 2 coats with no top coat.

Baby Please Come Home

Baby Please Come Home is a little harder to describe. She's in the purple family...like a warm violet with some gold bits.

Sometimes you see gold, sometimes sort of silvery taupe, sometimes much more violet.

Definitely another favorite for me with this one. 2 coats, no top coat.

Kiss Me at Midnight

Kiss Me at Midnight is a bright blue with different sizes of silver glitter.

She's got a silver sparkle, mixed with chunky silver glitters but she still manages to keep it smooth and beautiful.

Shown at 2 coats,no top coat.

Emotions

Emotions - this was one I wasn't sure of before I tried it. I figured it was going to be a basic black matte texture but it is SO much more than that.

First off - her texture is glorious. Secdonly, she is not only NOT matte, but she is swimming in black glitter. Just because the black is opaque and covers up alot of her sparkle and turns it to texture, you can absolutely still see it.

This is two coat with no top coat and yes, another favorite for me!

Whew....which ones are you getting?!
