 | Here is a polish I have to show you today that I bought some time ago and wanted to use SO SO SO bad, but as most things, once it hits the untried bin, no matter how bad I want to use it, things get in front of it and it gets neglected... I bring you....Polish Addict Hypnotize |
I've got Hypnotize paired up with Nicole by OPI's Sweet on Pete, from their recent Tink Collection. A gorgeous pea green creme that worked so well with Hypnotize it's ridiculous!
2 coats of Sweet on Pete and 1 coat of Hypnotize plus top coat.
Hypnotize is a sheer green soup full of huge white hex glitters, bars in black and white, microshimmer in gold, small gold squares, black glitters in squares and hex in multiple sizes AND AND AND....teal squares and stars!!!! What a cool combo of colors....white, black, gold and teal.

So gorgeous...I think I want to try this over a pink next and see how the base does against a non-green polish.
And matte....EXCLAMATE!!!
This is my second foray into Polish Addict polishes and I have loved both experiences, so definitely on my list of brands to explore further!

Special Texture Liquid-Sand Suede Glitter Nail Polishes in #15 and #17
First up we have #15 - a gorgeous mint green with dark green and light green glitters.
This one did not come off as textured to me in the least. It was much more just a plain full coverage glitter polish with minimal texture. None of these photos show it with top coat and you can see it is pretty smooth.

Also to note - this is 2 coats over 2 coats of Color Club Blue Ming, because this one is pretty sheer. But thick. I would imagine you would need at least 3-4 coats for opacity, and at its thickness I just didn't want to do that many. It is a gorgeous polish though, and definitely unique in my collection, a winner whether you like textured polish or not!
Next up we have #17 - a gorgeous, stunning blood red texture with brighter red glitters.
LOVE! I really wanted Zoya Chyna, and had secured a swap for it way back when. But the swap was lost in the Royal Mail debacle and I was left wanting a red textured polish! Thank jeebs that BPS came out with one, because this absolutely quenched my bloodlust for it!
This is 2 coats, no top coat and no undies. Great texture and coverage!

This manicure has SUCH a history...
For one, I wasn't even going to post today, thought I'd take the day off.
But then I realized it was Earth Day and I had a mani in the vault that was perfect!
But maybe not so perfect...after editing the pics and writing up the post I just had this itch, like something telling me this post is not good Missy, don't post that garbage for the world to see.
So I pondered on it for about an hour and decided to not only scrap that post but to do a whole new mani in honor of Earth Day instead of as an afterthought - so here it is!
For one, I wasn't even going to post today, thought I'd take the day off.

My base here is Reclaim by Nubar. Gorgeous holo green. 2 coats.
Back at Day 2 of Catrice Week and today I'm showing you a couple of green shades I have yet to try out.
Here we have King of Greens, Take it Mint and Million Dollar Baby
For this lovely mani, I started with a base of King of Greens then i sponged between it and Take It Mint until I had achieved the splotchiness that suited me best.
Then I applied one coat of Million Dollar Baby, a gorgeous gold glitter in clear base.
Finished off with a matte top coat - this would make a nice little St Pattys Day mani.

Welcome to the last day of Shimmer Week on Gnarly Gnails!
I've saved MY favorite for last.
The lovely Cindy of Shimmer was kind enough to send me a bucketfull of her beautiful polishes to review.
Since I had so many to work with I decided to swatch them a bit differently. Each of the 10 polishes I have to show you this week will be done as 50/50 Manicures so you can see the base vs. over the base, to see how well these cover. I will walk through the review picture by picture. Let's get started.

| Here we are at the last Shimmer of the Week. And it's a Shimmer of the Week alright! My hands down favorite pick of the 10 I have swatched - Cristina! I've got her paired up with a gorgeous polish by Butter London - Bluey! |

| Cristina is described as Deep Forest Green with a hint of Red and Fuchsia Glitter. It really gave me the impression of a green on the verge of teal...so you had to know, amazing... |

| Of course, layering this polish over a teal polish such as Bluey, will really pull the blue from it. The red and pinks and green all compliment each other so perfectly in this polish. |

| This polish, along with the other 9 polishes I tested from Shimmer this week, was perfection to apply. If I could wear these polishes every day, I would! |

| This is one thick coat of Cristina over 2 coats of Bluey. |

| Look at the smoothness of this glitter after top coat! Stunner! |

| Butter London Bluey is a new favorite. I recently got this during a special promo that Coterie had for bloggers to introduce their site before it was launched. Otherwise, I'd have never known the awesomeness of this polish. |

So here we are at our very last Shimmer swatching. I feel a certain sadness, but I am leaving you with my favorite today and a special Shimmer feature later today!
As you can tell, Cristina was one I was partial to from the moment I laid eyes on it - but you never know, the bottle to the nail will sometimes leave you disappointed. Obviously, there is not one disappointing thing about a Shimmer polish as I have come to learn.
Basically - you need them all.
For this weeks swatches, I have finished off each manicure with a coat of Gelous and then a standard Quick Dry top coat. Shimmer can be found on Etsy and they retail for $12 per bottle.

| I'm swatching Erica alongside Illamasqua Rampage, an insanely beautiful forest green jelly polish. |

| Erica in Macro vision. Cindy of Shimmer describes this is as Crystal Peridot. Pretty spot on Cindy! Tons of varying shades of green glitters along with aqua and blue, gold and silver. |

| And here is our 50/50 Erica/Rampage manicure. I've used 2 coats of Rampage with 1 thick coat of Erica over it. |

| As with every Shimmer I have swatched, Erica is no exception in the glitterbomb category! |

| Erica was a breeze to apply, the Shimmer formula is absolutely perfect, not too thick, not too thin. I literally could think of no cons when I was applying these polishes. |

| I won't lie - I am a SUCKER for gold. Gold glitter? Kill me now. I adored every minute I wore this manicure. |

| As for Rampage...this polish sat far too long in my untrieds. It was my first Illamasqua purchase ever, and it did not dissapoint. I was sad when looking at it in the house, it seemed almost black. But the next day, outside, it was GORGEOUS. 2 coats made this a show stopping green jelly. THE perfect companion for Erica. |
Every swatch of Shimmers this week has been finished off with 1 coat of Gelous + 1 coat of Jordana Quick Dry Top Coat.
