Happy Friday!! You guys will be proud of me, I have a post for you today that *I* did! Truth be told...I really dislike the length of my nails right now, I wish I could have waited a couple more weeks to start back to painting but you guys will just have to see the nubblies! It's Day 2 of Bling Week! Of course, what we as the Digital Dozen have dubbed Bling Week, its not a national holiday or anything like that! One of our members, Vic (glowstars.net) picked this theme - and if you are at all familiar with her blog you will know why! She is the crown princess of bling, thats for certain! Hopefully I don't embrass her with some of what I've done this week - but I know I am pretty proud of todays installment!

Today I'm back with the Untried Polish Challenge - Day 2- Two Colors!

Nailites around the globe are rejoicing as they receive deliveries of black boxes full of glorious flakies.
I am, of course, referring to Illamasqua's new version of Raindrops...PINK Raindrops.
I waited ever so patiently for this package to arrive, nervous as can be that it wouldn't arrive due to all of the issues with Royal Mail.
But it did, in much faster time than I had expected, no less!
Now...as a person obsessed with nail polish, it is guaranteed that I am procuring polish every week, whether it be a $2 polish from Walgreens or a much more expensive polish I've talked my boyfriend into buying me...most of those arrive home and are immediately welcomed into the bin that I call "Untried Hell".
This polish was never in need of worrying about that sort of fate. Oh no.
This baby knew she was special before she even made it here...I could tell by her careful wrapping and the way the paper in her shipping box cradled her. She's special.

I'm doing a 50/50 Manicure here to show you BOTH Raindrops, so you can see their similarities and differences!


Pink/Original













Pink Raindrops is a dusty pink that is much more opaque and thick than the original Raindrops.
Where Raindrops is sheer and almost requires a grey basecoat, Pink Raindrops is flakier, thicker, fuller and shimmerier!
Most reviews I've read about Pink Raindrops have been less than flattering, but I am here to say I love her! When Illamasqua said they were doing a pink version of the original, I couldn't have cared what it was, I was GOING to have it! And I'm not disappointed in the least.
Application was good...it's thick, sure. But it's almost a one coat polish. It's got much more density in the bottle, more flakes, more shimmers, more Oooh La La!
It's a limited time polish - so go get yours quick!!!

So in one of the nail groups I'm in on Facebook, we had a challenge this weekend to post our most and least expensive polishes in our stash.
These choices of mine aren't necessarily accurate in terms of retail price. My least expensive is based on what I paid and my most expensive is based on what it's worth.
So let's see....

Least Expensive - Cult Nails Manipulative. But wait, isn't Cult Nails a $10 polish?

It is...but not if you shop on Copious with credits! This polish only cost me ONE CENT using my Copious credits a few months ago.

I consider this polish a mint blue with shimmer. The shimmer does not translate as well to the nail, but it's a beautiful polish - this is 2 coats, no top coat.

Most Expensive - Illamasqua Raindrops! Again - I realize this is only a $14 polish but....

What's even funnier is it was a gift, so I paid nothing for it. But it's worth alot. It's discontinued and hard to find, even on ebay it only pops up a couple of times a month and goes anywhere from $50-$150 bucks.

I was lucky in doing a post trying to copy this polish that a reader reached out to me and offered to send me this polish just because. Talk about a nice lady! Thank you so much Elly - I love it more than I thought was possible!

Raindrops is a sheer grey with tons of white flakies. I layered two coats here over Sinful Colors Slate, because quite honestly, I did NOT want to waste this using it on its own. It seriously is so much more amazing in person.
