Hey folks!
I've been hard at work behind the scenes this week painting furious amounts of nails for some upcoming blog posts, so thats why it's been a bit quiet around these parts...but trust me when I say that it won't be quiet for pretty much the rest of December!
Digit-al Dozen hits next week and following that, I will be doing a massive top polishes marathon of posts that will bring us right through to Christmas!

Did all my US friends stuff up on turkey yesterday?
We actually are having Thanksgiving tomorrow...but we spent the day out with my boyfriends mom and stepdad doing some shopping - it was our first foray into a black friday situation and we actually had a lot of fun...my boyfriend only cussed twice the whole night!
Well...as for nails - today is the last day of the Ab Fab Challenge and it's a good one - Edina!

I was recently asked to do a review of this large stamping plate from Born Pretty.
By now I am sure you know all about this awesome online shop that sells everything from nail art supplies to jewelry.
I received this plate back in the fall and before I went off the reserve I thought I'd posted this review, but I sure couldn't find it anywhere so I'm re-reviewing it.
Let's check it out and we'll talk as we go!
This is the plate they sent me, minus its packaging and blue film which I took off before I shot this. This is ready to go.
It is plate CK-05 by KandNail. The link I previously had for this item is no longer active on the BPS site, so I don't know if it's since been discontinued.
This is a close up of one of the designs I am going to be using in todays review. A lovely snakeskin pattern.
And here is the other design I will be using today - some gun shot looking splatters. Both of these designs are ones I had seen on other plates and wanted pretty bad, so I'm glad to have this large plate with both!
Now before I continue to the mani shots - I want to let you know that these plates are best for SMALL nails. I tend to think I have smallish nail beds and these were still too small for me. The designs that are singular images (such as the gun shot splatters) are not of issue - but "full nail" designs (like the snakeskin pattern) will most likely NOT fit on your full nail. So knowing this ahead of time, I opted to do a partial tape mani to cover up the areas the image missed on my nail.
So I started with a base of OPI DS Classic, stamped on my images with Konad Special Black and then when it was all dry I taped off diagonal areas and painted over them with Finger Paints Black Expressionism. Then I finished off with coat of Color Club 0-60 topcoat.
I really like how its a sort of peekaboo snake.
The images on this plate, while small, all stamped wonderfully. I had no issue with any parts of the image not coming through.

30/31 Day Challenge - Day 25: Fashion

Everytime I would read this days challenge, I broke out in David Bowie voice and strutted around singing FASHION! Turn to the Left!
Ok, I didn't except in my head.
Today was a tough one, I had a gorgeous Alexander McQueen dress picked out to replicate, then when I went to physically do the challenge, I didn't think I could do it, so I looked around for something else and couldn't really find something cool, so I ended up circling back to that dress and just going for it.

| So..yeah. Not totally close, but I call it a re-imagining. I just simply don't have a cool snakeskin stamp so the more alligator like stamp i used looks like skeleton teeth to me! |

| My base color is China Glaze Ruby Pumps. Then I sponged on bits of white and black. |

30/31 Day Challenge: Day 13 - Animal Print

It's Animal Print Day for the 30/31 Day Challenge.
I had seen a cool technique for doing snakeskin, and since I don't have the type of snakeskin stamp I would like, I decided to try this. I did it three times, and everytime I felt it was a fail.
But because I waited so long to do it, I just said screw it and went with the first one, since it was the best of the worst!
I can't even tell you what I used, there must be 10 colors at least in here.

I'm taking on another nail challenge.
Let's see - I have Stamping Sundays, Monkey See Monkey Do Mondays, Teal Tuesdays, the monthly Digit-al Dozen and now I've started a daily month long new challenge with a ton of fantastic bloggers called the 30/31 Day Challenge.
This is what you can expect to see:
What you can probably expect NOT to see is my MSMD and Stamping Posts. I'll try, but I tend to get lazy and having days of triple posting might be a little more than I can aspire to!
So Day One - Red Nails!
My favorite! (snort)
Sadly, my red turned pink-ish.
I used XOX Betsey by Sephora/OPI and I stamped with Deborah Lippmann Good Girl Gone Bad - which is normally a gorgeous burgundy shimmer, but here it turned kinda fuchsia. Considering I did this mani one hour ago right after I decided to do this challenge on the DAY it started, I can't apologize!
I used various BM and Mash plates for this mani - if you wanna know, just ask in the comments!

I don't know about you - but I have always had a huge obsession with the little Paul Frank Monkeys. Julius, the main little guy, is just so cute. But my favorite was always Skurvy.
Back when I was younger, like mid-20's, Paul Frank was more of a boutique thing and much more expensive. I could only find it at Urban Outfitters and the Paul Frank store in Santa Monica! But now the little guys are everywhere and I love it!
So the reason I go on and on about these crazy monkey dudes is because I have some to show you today! Were you able to put that together? I know you were, cuz my readers are SMART LADIES!
So a few weeks ago I received a little package from KKCenterHK with some nail art products to review and in that package were some Paul Frank water decals.
Super stoked, never tried water decals before, let me tell you - easiest thing ever!

| Easy as pie, cut out your decal, peel of the top plastic part and drop that baby in the water for about 20-30 seconds. Then you just take it out and slide the decal off the paper backing with your finger and slap it on! Wait about 1-2 minutes for it to settle and then top coat it. |
For my first foray into water decals, this was radical. It was super easy and super cute and what an easy way to do some nail art when you don't feel like getting all crazy!
