Time for some more Skittles - I hope you brought your nail art appetite!
Today we're doing a little Halloween skittle! So hey - did you notice we have some new Digit-al Dozen ladies? Well we do! I hope you DID notice. Nory from Fierce Makeup and Nails, Emily from The Lacquerologist, Shelly from Sassy Shelly and Jolène from Follow Gashin!
I am trying to be on the ball this time and post up some seasonal polishes I have purchased BEFORE the actual holiday. I know it's crazy.
I have so many untrieds that I can fawn all over polishes and buy them and then they rot in untried hell for months, possibly years.
So today I'm bringing you 4 Halloween polishes I recently picked up!
So...I'm late. But still... Last week we had a Mexico prompt for the 33DC but I was struggling and having a crap day, so I threw mine out. Over the weekend I decided to re-do it and try to keep moving forward. Its pretty generic, but I love the Day of the Dead so I HAD to.
You guys will be proud of me, I have a post for you today that *I* did!
Truth be told...I really dislike the length of my nails right now, I wish I could have waited a couple more weeks to start back to painting but you guys will just have to see the nubblies!
Anyway - enjoy today because it is EPIC in its awesomeness!
Ellagee - Not the Droids You're Looking For
Ellagee - Bubbly
Ellagee - The Hottest Spot North of Havana
Illamasqua - Baptiste
So hi - these are from Ellagee and how cute are they?!
I have to admit, I have been eyeing up Ellagee for awhile now - but with a non-existent polish fund and a huge amount of brands out there to try, sometimes I just can't get everything I want.
So I'm always thrilled when a polish brand I dig asks me to do a review for them - and when Laura of Ellagee asked, I was beside myself. She's made quite a name for herself in the polish community and you can see why with these 3 pretties I have for you today.
First up is Bubbly - which is gold circles and hex's of varying sizes encapsulated in a shimmering gold clear base. Basically, a bottle of yum champagne for your nails. Let's make it rain.
I paired Bubbly up with Illamasqua Baptiste because I really thought a shimmering deep purple would look divine and royal with gold. Man I love gold. This is just one coat of Bubbly over Baptiste.
I might add that some of these glitters are gold holo! So much fun when you see those bits of blue and other rainbow shades pop off!
Formula wise this ran a little thick, but thats not abnormal for a good suspension. I used a method of application that involved me blobbing the polish on a sheet of paper and then I picked up the glitters on a dotting tool and placed them on the nail - then I applied a sheer thin coat of the polish over that. I love this shot - it looks like planets!
Next up is Not The Droids You're Looking For...I admit that two things about this one sucked me in - the name and the mix of gold and aqua! Plus - circles! This is combined with small silver hex and they all live happily in a clear base.
This is just one coat coverage of Droids over another polish I will show you below.
Standard application here, Droids has a lovely formula and the glitters flowed easily to the nail!
And last but nowhere near least - The Hottest Spot North of Havana. A gorgeous aqua blue holo...Not necessarily something I don't have but to be honest, the name got me and I had to have it. I have a thing for Barry M. And not the nail polish brand..though I love him, too.
This leans a little greener than true life, sorry! I'm still working out the kinks of my new camera!
Ok gorgeous...now the best part about this insanely awesome holo - it was ONE COAT!
OMG - alert the media, this is the bomb!
So - do you own any polishes by Ellagee? She makes quite an array of polishes, from neons to holos to glitters and glitterbombs!
