So....last month one of my favorite people, Leslie, left our Digit-al Dozen gang. Leslie is the woman behind work/play/polish if you aren't aware. She left a really big hole in the group and in me when she made the choice to leave.
Leslie is someone I admire so much for SO many reasons, and is one of those people I was so lucky to cross paths with via nails/blogging. A bunch of us in the group decided to pay a tribute to her today in honor of her time in the group with us, as well as just in honor of HER. While I will miss her in our group, I know we will remain friends for a long time to come and I look forward to seeing all of the amazing things she is going to accomplish.

Here we are at the halfway mark of Digit-al Dozen week!

This is usually about the time that my mani's go from good to less than. But I am also really proud of what I have for you today.

It's one of those seemingly intricate nail art designs I was always discouraged to try, but it was pretty easy to do!

Oh man you guys.

For a theme I started out hating, I totally went above and beyond what I sometimes think I am capable of with the nail art this week for Digit-al Dozen.

It's not ALL great, but some of it is...well...just look at this one.

Adventures in Stamping - Hot Stuff!

It's another Stamping Sunday for my friends and I at Adventures in Stamping.

This weeks theme was Hot. Hot colors, Hot fire...whatever you can interpret as hot.

I decided to play off of my Hot Pink Ombre nails from the other day and boy am I glad I did.

This ended up being one of my favorite mani's ever.

For colors used, please see the link above.

Image Plate: Cheeky 11

Black for stamping and gradient - Fingerpaints Black Expressionism

I wanted to put a spin on the gradient fad by doing the black at the cuticle instead of the tip like everyone else. Then I added the stamping over it so it would blend into the black. I pretty much love this to death.

I wore it for 4 days!

This is what it looks like when Missy does a Gradient. Nice and Messy.

52 Week Challenge - Ombre Nails!

Thursday, June 07, 2012

I'll be the first one to jump on a new trend but I gotta say - I'm pretty certain this is the first time I've done Ombre Nails.

There is slight confusion between some people about the difference between Ombre and Gradient Manicures. Ombre means a gradation in colors within the same color family from light to dark, one of each color per nail. Gradient nails are a color gradation per nail that combine any colors in any amount.

So...these almost seem more like skittles to me than Ombre's.

I chose to go with all Color Club pinks/purples and after editing the photos they just don't seem as Ombre-like as they did in person.

C'est La Vie!

ALSO - I have a new watermark.

Does it distract too much from the nails? Or is it good? Any input, always welcome.

My boyfriend was of little help with opinions on this!

On to the digits...

Colors Used:

Gimme a Grape Big Kiss

Raspberry Rush

Warhol

Poptastic

Yum Gum

I'm back in the game with these challenges. I've been sick the past few days, so luckily I planned ahead and did these awhile back!I couldn't decide, I almost always wear glitter so when I'd done two different versions of this glitterbomb on accident I couldn't decide which to post.So why not post both, right? Right.

This was done on top of my Spring Gradient Challenge Mani.

Added Magenta glitter from Love & Beauty (sponged on top)

This was added to my Spring Skittles Challenge Mani.

Added Orly Shining Star and then sponged on Gold glitter from Love & Beauty over the top tips.

XOXO.

Today we're doing Pastel Patchwork at The Purple Crumpet Fairy's Spring Challenge!

Here's our bottle shot in which I used Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chris, China Glaze Dance Baby, Sinful Colors Rise & Shine, Sinful Colors Cinderella, Sinful Colors Unicorn and Sinful Colors Timbleberry (I guess you can see I had my SC drawer open for this one!)

I base coated in OPI Alpine Snow, stamped with the WnW Black and then taped off a diagonal, painted each one a different skittle shade and then finished by striping some stitch lines. Total smear fest.

XOXO.

Oh unicorns...magic....rainbows. How I miss those days of yore!Visit The Purple Crumpet Fairy and join in with us - this challenge goes til the beginning of April! But seriously...I don't know what I was going for here, it started out as a gradient/ombre rainbow across my entire hand and ended up as a crazy glitter explosion mani.

Ok...here's your bottle shot. Looks like I used Sally Hansen Cinna Snap, Sinful Colors Timbleberry, Color Club Get Your Lem-On, OPI Jade is the New Black, China Glaze Frostbite and Zoya Savita. Explosions were Orly Luxe and overall glitter was Orly Shining Star.
