Texture Week with the Digit-al Dozen going strong at Day 2. I was really excited about yesterdays mani, today I'm equally excited. These two were such huge favorites in my brain I couldn't even decide which I liked more. I think this one wins on pure originality though. Some things I find inspiration from, today I just light bulbed it, and I love it so much. But enough vanity, gross....let's go look!

OMG! I feel like it's been near forever since I did Digit-al Dozen week. First I had the NAGG challenge and skipped a month, then I got sick and had to skip another! Talk about slack! But now I'm back on track for our Texture Week! So excited, as you know I love some texture, and with the exception of one day, this week is full of awesome textured polishes!

I'm back with ANOTHER review today!
Nicole by OPI has new textured polishes out like you've never seen before - and I for one am IN LOVE with them!
They're not your typical glittery beauties, instead they mimic house stucco to me. I think they're awesome, and very well executed. Wanna see for yourself?

Hey hi hellooooo!
So, are you as excited about The Walking Dead tonight as I am?!
OMG! I go through phases of loving it and hating it, but after the end of the first half of this season, I am freaking out over what will happen next and how everyone will react to what happened!? GAH!
Anyway! Today besides all that hype I have half of the new Sea Goddess Collection from China Glaze to show you. This is a full texture collection in gorgeous spring colors, and I definitely believe the three I have for you today are the best of the collection!

Here comes Day 3 of the Nail-Art-A-Go-Go Challenge! As this publishes I am somewhere in Nashville enjoying a concert! Its been like FOREVER since I went to an actual concert and not just a show in a bar - plus its one of my oldest favorite bands, The Pixies. So needless to say, I had to schedule this because we will be home late, I hope we're having fun!
Anyway none of that has to do with today, but you know, I have to have some different intros to these posts from time to time! Let's check out what todays prompt is and what I did!

I'm what you call, "behind" in some posts and reviews, so I'll be doing a little double posting here and there this coming week to catch up.
Today I have a review on the newest offering from China Glaze - Crinkled Chrome.
I know the "weirder" textures aren't loved by alot of people, but I like them pretty okay, and I gotta hand it to China Glaze for trying new things!

It's time for some fun!
Today is Day 3 of the Ab Fab Challenge - which begins with the more whimsical ladies of the show - today is Bubble!
Bubble is the crackpot assistant to Edina who wears the most crazy outfits that almost never seem to match.
She is a total airhead and yet somehow she is a hilarious and likeable character. Her accent and voice completely crack me up whenever she is on screen.

Hey hey ya'll!
It's Friday!
I've spent my short time awake today dealing with website junk. My friend Vic messaged me to tell me my site wasn't loading without the www so I went to investigate and come to find out, somehow when I transferred my services over 4 months ago, they somehow reverted back in the last few days to the older host. Pain in the butt, but 15 minutes or so with live chat got it (hopefully) all squared away and fixed. If you are having any problems reaching the site past today, please let me know! Anyway - let's enjoy Friday with our final Digit-al Dozen Black and White mani - I think you might like this one....it's one of my favorites of the week!

Hey supersweets!
Today embarks on a new chapter in The Digit-al Dozen themery - this month/week our theme is Black and White.
November is my birth month, so I got to pick the theme this month and I'm totally stoked on it!
Sadly I'm also TOTALLY unprepared and running way behind on getting them done, but I still made this one in under the wire!

Meet the new OPI DS Raw Granite Polishes!

OPI - DS Lapis
OPI - DS Pewter
First up is DS Lapis - a stunning cobalt/navy blue with silver and black particles. These are inspired by "raw granite" and definitely look as so. Its kind of how you would imagine granite if it was blue instead of the standard grey color. Google blue granite and you will some stuff very similar to this in fact!
This is just...RICH. It dries FAST, it dries MATTE and it took ONE COAT. Thats all the win I need.
It has the slightest bit of texture to the touch, I think you could slap a matte top coat over this to get it smooth and keep its natural effect. Or glossy is gorgeous too...but I didn't do that today because lots of people have already done it...instead I opted to show you some comparisons....
So let's see how DS Lapis stacks up against the new liquid sand, Alcatraz Rocks.
Both shown at 1 coat and no top coats. DS Lapis is clearly a more heathered blue with black and silver bits, where Alcatraz is loaded with the gold and purple bits and has a lot more sparkle pizazz.
Alcatraz is also 2-3 times more textured as well. In look and feel. Both gorgeous in their own right. I couldn't pick a favorite to be honest.
And the other new DS is DS Pewter. A dark grey/light black jelly full of silver microglitter and slightly bigger pieces too.
DS Pewter took two coats and was way less black than in the bottle. Each coat darkens it some but I don't think you can get it black black. Same feel and look as DS Lapis, slight texture with beautiful matte effect.
It reminds me of hammered metal, that metal that is a dark gunmetal but pocked with black marks. Very mineral-like.
And now I will show you a comparison between DS Pewter and Nicole by OPI A-Nise Treat.
Each shown at 2 coats with no top coats. You can see A-Nise Treat has uniform particles and is more textured. It is also much blacker in depth.
Same as before...both share a matte finish but the Gumdrops and Liquid Sands have more texture and more sparkle than these DS polishes do. They will grab more twinkle with top coat, but I quite love the matte effect as is!
Designer Series by OPI nail lacquer shades each feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide™ Brush for the ultimate in application. DS Raw Granite lacquers should be worn without top coat for a matte finish. DS Pewter and DS Lapiswill be available beginning September 2013 at professional salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, jcp Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, ULTA and ulta.com for $12.50 ($14.95 CAN) suggested retail for each nail lacquer.

Special Texture Liquid-Sand Suede Glitter Nail Polishes in #15 and #17
First up we have #15 - a gorgeous mint green with dark green and light green glitters.
This one did not come off as textured to me in the least. It was much more just a plain full coverage glitter polish with minimal texture. None of these photos show it with top coat and you can see it is pretty smooth.
See the smoothness?
Also to note - this is 2 coats over 2 coats of Color Club Blue Ming, because this one is pretty sheer. But thick. I would imagine you would need at least 3-4 coats for opacity, and at its thickness I just didn't want to do that many. It is a gorgeous polish though, and definitely unique in my collection, a winner whether you like textured polish or not!
Next up we have #17 - a gorgeous, stunning blood red texture with brighter red glitters.
LOVE! I really wanted Zoya Chyna, and had secured a swap for it way back when. But the swap was lost in the Royal Mail debacle and I was left wanting a red textured polish! Thank jeebs that BPS came out with one, because this absolutely quenched my bloodlust for it!
This is 2 coats, no top coat and no undies. Great texture and coverage!
You can find both of these polishes AT THIS LINK - they retail for $5.59 but right now are on sale for only $3.99!!!
Not only that, but use my coupon code below and save even more! (PLUS ALWAYS FREE SHIPPING!!)
