OMG! I feel like it's been near forever since I did Digit-al Dozen week. First I had the NAGG challenge and skipped a month, then I got sick and had to skip another! Talk about slack! But now I'm back on track for our Texture Week! So excited, as you know I love some texture, and with the exception of one day, this week is full of awesome textured polishes!

Into Day 6 now of the Nail-Art-A-Go-Go Challenge!
And its another tape mani!
I'm not entirely sure why I did almost a full week of tape manis for the start of the challenge, I remember when I was doing them that I thought this was a huge time waster (the waiting for so much polish to dry) - but I do really love them all, and this one today is no exception. It reminds me of motorcycles.

So today I've paired up China Glaze Electric Pineapple with Sation Ego-Friendly
This is 3(?) coats of Electric Pineapple and 1 coat of Ego-Friendly.
Ego-Friendly has a great mix of green and black glitters in shreds and microglitters! But don't let the greenish base fool you, it's essentially clear.
Yay for Neons!!

Just a quick one today - the pics for this mani didn't come out too great but it is what it is! Enjoy your Sunday nonetheless! (HAR HAR)
Today I have a neon combo for you - the base of which is this pink above by Pop Beauty. It came in a set of polish and lip balm and thus has no name label on it (or the box it came in). Furthest I can tell it's called Pinkest. It's a fun pink neon, no undies were needed but it did take 3 coats shown here.
Then I layered a coat of Exploded by Salon Perfect on top.
Funny story about this polish - every bottle of it I was able to find at Walmart had green polish ALL OVER IT/THEM. So apparently, the green ones had EXPLODED all over these. HA! Anyway - I don't love this combo, and I'm kind of iffy on this glitter. It's a bit patchy and strange, when I used one of it's counterparts previously, I added a chunkier glitter over the top and I think that was key in me liking that one. I don't think I was born to like these super small glitter bombs.
 | I've accumulated a massive amount of neon polishes in the last 2 months - and I'm really trying my best to get through them before summer ends - it isn't likely, so I'm sure you will be seeing these into next summer at this rate! Today - I have a really cool neon glitter topper if you're into that sort of thing! |
SO hey - how are you guys?
I have been doing this treatment, that started out as Nailtiques, UNTIL....until I FINALLY found Rejuvacote! So I switched over after one week. I was seeing really good results with the Nailtiques, so hopefully that progress continues with the Rejuvacote. I'm not documenting the progress, but I will probably do a post about it later in the month or so when I finish the first/second round.
ANYWAY - Because of the treatment and the fact that I got many people to guest post and stock piled posts for this occasion, I find myself with a LOT of free time now that I can't paint my nails! During this free time I've been doing some "work" behind the scenes...like starting a spreadsheet FINALLY to keep track of what the hell I'm doing with all of this polish.
Round 1 is done - The Untrieds. I have 227.
Seriously???
This is AFTER I purged a ton of untrieds for the Blog Sale too! Holies.
This weekend I will be packing up orders from the sale and working on Round 2 of the spreadsheet, the Melmers..wish me luck not getting the sorest of backs from sitting on the floor hunched over a million polishes and a laptop!
Todays pairing is Franken Frosting Starlight and Wet n Wild Fergie in Miami Spirit
Macro of Starlight. This is my first time trying Franken Frosting and I am really digging their stuff. I ordered this many months ago, and it took a little longer than I'm used to, so when I emailed them, she let me know they had had an issue with their email/payment system and that for the wait I could choose an additional item. That was pretty sweet, so I got 2 of their creations, the other of which I hope to show you soon! But really - I love pink and green - this is a huge win for me!
I don't know what made me want to pair this with a shimmery teal, but tell me this doesn't seem like a made for each other combination!?
This is 2 coats of Miami Spirit and one coat of Starlight!
Plus a top coat of course. Smooth glitter, the pieces come out of the bottle very easily as well.

Here is Ashleys on the left, and my re-imagining on the right. She actually based hers off of the following scrapbooking cover, so I took a little from that as well as her previous design:
So I had the idea to do some houndstooth in this, but omg...three fails and I gave up.
I made a few changes, for one I switched up 2 florals for a combination of the 2 into one. Then I also did this in neon instead. And matte.
I used a neon pink from POP Beauty (the name isnt on the bottle since I bought it in a duo of lip balm and polish, but I think it may be called Pinkest), the neon green is I'm With the Lifeguard by China Glaze. Then black and white.
I am proud to say that even though the many fails of houndstooth are gone, I freehanded this whole thing. First florals I've done that I actually like, too.

Raise your hand if you are getting way too much rain where you live...
We had two days break and now its back with a vengeance! Our yard (which is on a creek front and back) was completely flooded on Monday and we had to drive up through these crazy back roads to get back onto real roads and it was CRAZy!
I must have been traumatized earlier in life on small windy roads or something, because I did NOT handle it well.
So...how bout some nail talk...this is Day 4 of Tape Week and I'm handling it nicely. I love tape mani's...I rarely have a problem doing them and I really enjoy them start to finish - this one today is a leftover from last weeks Neon Week that I held onto for this week!
 | Oh Em Gee am I glad it is Friday! Hope you all had a safe holiday (or just a safe week in general if you aren't celebrating in the US). We had grand plans to do some fun outdoor stuff this week with my boyfriends son, but it rained on all the good days and spoiled the plans! Anyway! Today is the final day of Neon Week! I had a different mani planned up for today but I hated it, so instead I pulled a neon from the vault. |

Amy's Nail Boutique - Happy Birthday
Here is a macro of Amy's Nail Boutique - Happy Birthday. A GORGEOUS neon topper with stars and hexes and squares in all shades of opaque matte neon! What I love most about this is not only the huge amount of stars, but that the neon is opaque and not that see-through kind of glitter like Lush Lacquers Clowning Around (though I own both and each is awesome in its own right!)
I did one of my favorite kinds of nail art "technique" - the watercolor method. Then I topped it with Happy Birthday to double the neon pleasure!

I had a terribly trying day yesterday and I just couldn't bring myself to do a thing last night besides mind numbing tv watching. Here we have them all - I'm so sorry about this weeks photos. I honestly don't know if its the neons, if I forgot to set my white balance or if my camera is slowly dying but all of these neon pictures are flashing up so cold! It feels like black and white photography! Luckily the neons photographed nearly true to life, so in the end, who really cares if my hands looks grey!
I LOVED these polishes. Formula was about the best I have come across in a true neon polish. All of these swatches are one coat of white polish and 2 coats of each neon shade.
The ONLY bad thing I have to say about this collection is that the yellow stained. BUT, the yellow was also my favorite of the bunch, so go figure! Yellows are notoriously difficult polishes to get even, this was not, but it stained, so no pain no gain I guess!

Today we are doing an abstract splatter design. More of a SPLAT really. You know I like a good splat, it actually used to be my photo watermark if you recall! So I freeform painted a splat design instead of going the typical splatter super messy route!
For this mani (yes, sorry, no bottle shots on this one for some reason) I used a base of Lonesome Dove by Confetti - which is pretty awesome. My first polish from them and I was REALLY impressed with how opaque it was, and it was on sale so it only cost 99 cents! So thats the base. The splats were made using Color Club Wham Pow which is like my most favorite orange polish on Earth. And then Lush Lacquers superfamous polish, Clowning Around for the other 2 fingers.
The splat is basically a few haphazard dots that i drug into the center to create one giant splat, then I dotted/dragged a few around the edges as well.
I love the effect of neons and grey. I did it last year with a flourescent yellow and grey leopard/stripe mani so I was excited to do it again!
