Happy Friday lovelies!
It's actually Thursday night for me, but it's a good one. Cup of coffee and watching Doctor Who (yes, I finally succumbed to peer pressure, and soooo glad I did at that!).
This is my final installment of Whimsical Week, so I made sure to swatch one I didn't already do and forgot!
In case you are just tuning in, here is a wrap-up of the week in review:
Day 1 - Seuss
Day 2 - Kismet's Pajamas
Day 3 - Kitty Glitter
Day 4 - Hatched

Today we visit My Friend Carol. Not MY friend, but Pam's friend, who this polish was named for.

Today I'm showing you 'Hatched' in my week-long Whimsical Week tour!
Yes, I have (sort of) swatched this polish before, but it was kind of under nail art and like earlier stuff I've done...not the best.
Sometimes swatching is boring, I know. SO every now and then I like to punch up a swatch with something different, so I'm going to show you Hatched in a 50/50 mani with a new polish I recently picked up and had been lemming for months!

One of the drawbacks to taking such a huge break from blogging was that I forgot alot of what I had previously blogged. This can be good or bad depending on where you stand. Enter Kitty Glitter - a polish I thought I hadn't worn yet..but after I did, I went back and looked and there it was.
Granted, I swatched it back in May and like most of my earlier blog posts...it sucks.
I was so much happier with the new version I created, and for this one I decided to drop some undies beneath it in the form of my new OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (yes, it DOES turn out I'm the last one to buy this polish on Earth).

As Day 2 of Whimsical Week continues here, I took a look back at my first swatches of Pam's polishes I'd done.
I actually went ahead and deleted the previous swatch I had of Kismet's Pajamas which was from February 8th of 2012 - wow, I can't believe it's been a year since I bought my first Whimsies!
Anyway - the reason I deleted that post was that several months ago I was digging through my polishes and I came across that first bottle of Kismet's Pajamas (it was, along with Peanut Butter & Jelly, my first Whimsical purchase, not to mention, my first INDIE purchase!) and it looked really....brown. I thought it was strange, so I googled some swatches of it  and it was clearly supposed to be black. I looked at MY swatch of it from when I'd first purchased it, and yep, it was brown. I thought maybe it had bled or something but it appeared I just got it that way.
I was in the middle of placing an order with Pam at the time for her Halloween collection and when I showed her a pic of it her reaction was, well, priceless.
She practically yelled at me through the email to throw it out, throw it out and throw it far far away!
She sent me a replacement for it, and holding them side by side it was obvious I'd just gotten a weird polish originally.
SO now, I can properly show you this beauty.
And upon using it, I literally gushed to my boyfriend at what a gorgeous creation it is.
A black jelly with purple and silver glitter that actually shows through the base and stands out all on it's own.
That is no easy feat.

Hey guys!
Happy Monday to you, or Tuesday in some cases I suppose.
In an attempt to work through my untrieds as well as go back through some of my starter posts and re-do those nightmares, I decided to do a special week dedicated to one of my favorite polish lines - Whimsical Nail Polish.
I have more Whimsical polishes than I do of any other Indie brand, and I have enough to complete a full week of untrieds and re-do's - so let's get it goin'!
I was pretty surprised when I was sorting my tried polishes and untried polishes and came across Seuss sitting there, never used...poor thing.
When Seuss was released, there was pretty much a shitstorm frenzy of ladies nationwide knocking each other over for this polish, myself included. As is the case too many times over though, I gotta have it so bad, and then once I do, I forget all about it!

So, Seuss - a gorgeous turquoise jelly polish, the exact Seuss blue shade, intermixed with big red and silver hex glitters and then smaller blue ones.

Suess shown above in 3 coats, plus a coat of Gelous and a coat of 0-60 Top Coat by Color Club.

This lady right here has got the new Hallowhimsies from Whimsical Nail Polish by Pam, you ready to see the goods? I'll keep the talk short!

Boo, Wicked and Once Upon a Time

All the Hallowhimsies are ready to come to a town near you in the Creature Screecher!

Boo! - paired with Pure Ice Kiss Me Here (dupe of China Glaze Recycle with a better formula)

Pam describes Boo! as "Gray-ish, Blue-ish and sheer like a ghost, with pink shimmer" You can absolutely see that shimmer and this polish works on it's own or as a shimmer top coat.

In a darker angled shot, you can see that not only is the shimmer stunning, it also is a duochrome with a shift  from pink to goldish-orange.

My accent/ring finger is Essie No Place Like Chrome - Boo! simply whitened that up and disappeared, so I wouldn't suggest using it over silver! It looks fantastic over the gray polish though!

Here you can really see all of the different shades of shimmer working together. In some lights it even appears to flicker blue.

Yumz! Pam says this can be worn alone, so I will be trying it out that way one day soon!

Next up is Once Upon a Time, worn over Catrice's How I Matt Your Mother, a beautiful dark plum matte polish.

Macro-time! Look at the gorgeous translucency of these satin glitters! Good LORD! 'Halloween Colors with a pastel twist! Lavender and pastel green with micro silver and micro lavender in a clear base'

Formula was fantastic - this application is one coat How I Matt Your Mother followed by one coat of Once Upon a Time.

Application for this polish was fantastic, thin but easy to grab glitters and they came out nice and easy with just the right amount per coat.

I am super in love with the combination of colors and glitters in this. So simple yet beautiful and wearable all year!

How about some matte action? Oh yeah.

Wicked. Yes, this is the standout of the collection. Pam always seems to have that one super special polish that everyone freaks over, and I believe (judging by my informal FB poll) that this is that polish.

How's that for a macro?!  'Matte black and white glitter, red sparkly glitter in an elphaba green base' Sigh. You had me at Elphaba. I am a huge fan of the book Wicked, and it's sequel Son of a Witch. Pam..you pull at my polish heartstrings.

This polish is worn alone here at 3 coats. Plus top coat. No gelous, just top coat and it smoothed out perfect.

Not too thick or thin, this polish was nice and easy to apply, at first I wasn't getting any of those big round glitters out but then after doing 3 coats, they started coming out 2 and 3 at a time! So no fishing needed here!

The base on this polish is breathtaking, a jelly green with greenish yellow shimmer...I love how it sits atop the glitters - its like a slime sandwich. I mean that as a compliment.

The process of applying a polish like this at 3 coats will take some time. You may want to pair this over a nice green like Spoileds Im So Jaded or Cult Nails Deal With It. This is Wicked Matte.

How do you love those big, black round glitters?! Those are so gonna be the next big thing in Indie polish...I feel it.

Ya'll know I am Pam's biggest fan and cheerleader - she just knows how to make this stuff like she was born with it.  Even after 700+ polishes in my stash, she always makes something unique and ALWAYS makes me stand back and say WOW when I see her new creations.
A bottle will run you $10 and it comes with fantastic customer service and a lot of love.
She takes orders through email - which you can find on her Facebook Page.
