Hey guys!
Recovering from the very busy Easter weekend over here, so this prompt is a day late and tomorrows probably will be too!
Our Easter was pretty good, I even got to see a good friend of mine I wasn't expecting to see so that was nice.
Todays/Mondays prompt for the NPC is Drugstore polishes, so I pulled out two of my somewhat newer acquisitions that went cool together!

Hey loves!
I've missed you!
The day my brain stopped wanting to explode from being sick turned into the day my boyfriends son came for his spring break, so as soon as I was recovering from being sick I was burst into full on babysitter mode and it's been non-stop for a week!
I'm so glad I'm better now and I'm free from ALL of the things that have been keeping me from blogging!
With that said - today starts the newest challenge we have cooked up over at The Glittah Pirates group! We want to rid ourselves of those untrieds that we love, buy and forget about! Today we're starting it off with glitter!

Welcome to Shimmer Week on Gnarly Gnails!
The lovely Cindy of Shimmer was kind enough to send me a bucketfull of her beautiful polishes to review.
Since I had so many to work with I decided to swatch them a bit differently. Each of the 10 polishes I have to show you this week will be done as 50/50 Manicures so you can see the base vs. over the base, to see how well these cover. I will walk through the review picture by picture. Let's get started.

Adrienne:

Starting off with Shimmer Adrienne, I accompanied her with Maybelline Color Show Polish in Blue Blowout, a light blue metallic.

Adrienne in Macro. Cindy defines this polish as Blue and Gold glitter polish but man, is it ever more than that. Every one of her polishes is a bona-fide glitterbomb!

So here is Adrienne and Blue Blowout in the 50/50 Manicure. The two colors complement each other really well.

The application of Adrienne here is just ONE thick coat over Blue Blowout.
Adrienne was definitely one of my favorites of the bunch I received from Shimmer. I loved the ease of application and this polish was one of the sparser of the bunch, meaning a light hand would yield a finer coat of glitter - which wasn't what I was going for here, but I like that that still shows through in the photos.
Every swatch of Shimmers this week has been finished off with 1 coat of Gelous + 1 coat of Jordana Quick Dry Top Coat.
So Happy Saturday for those of you lucky enough to have a reprieve from the good ole work/school week!
Starting today I'm bringing you what I hope will be a well received and enjoyed new addition to the blog...I'm calling it Saturday Summary, and basically it will be a run down of the weeks goings ons in the Nail Polish World! It may be some news, some new blogs I found, you just never know!
Hope You enjoy!!
- Cult Nails is releasing their newest Collection - The Cult Fairy Tale Collection! Pre-sale starts next Saturday! It consists of 4 Shades and a Glitter topper. READ MORE.
- A gorgeous new spin on Gradients comes your way via Pretty Digits' Watermelon Gradient!
- Bee Polished shows us a fantastic tutorial on how to apply silk wraps to strengthen your nails!
- Learn how to Bevel your nails after filing with Kayla Shevonne's great tutorial.
- 2 Great things going on right now are Gradients and the new Urban Decay Polish Collection Set. See how to incorporate both into your look with this awesome post by Chalkboard Nails! She also hit 1 million pageviews this week - how awesome is that, right?!
- This week I did a Tokidoki Nails tutorial and it was retweeted by TOKIDOKI! They even sent me an email to tell me they liked it!
- And finally - one more me me me bullet point - to summarize the rest of the week I'm including a haul here because my Sephora FINALLY got a nail bar, and I went a little crazy when I saw it, mentally AND physically! (Those pics are at the end of the post):
These haul pics are what I've mostly accumulated since the last haul post did.
First up - my Ulta FINALLY got the Layla Holo's in! I don't think there's a color of Holo that I "needed" but I needed some Laylas...so I opted for the Ocean Rush since I had no blue holo that color and the Flash Black, because even though I already have a black holo, this one is nicer!
Bottle shot - pretty rainbows!!
Orlys!
Androgynie, Jealous Much? (given to me by my friend Taylor), La Vida Loca, Ingenue and Galaxy Girl.
Milani Silver Dazzle, China Glaze Secret Periwinkle, OPI Number One Nemesis and Revlon Gold Get Em (Given to me by my friend Taylor)
Zoya Julieanne and Carly
Apparently my lemming for SC's Pearl Harbor is easily quenchable now, it had a sticker in the permanent display! So here is Pearl Harbor and Pink (neon)
LA Girls Strawberry Delight, Disco Inferno and Sparkling Peach
Holy hell - look at that pretty purple and goldish.peach shimmer!
And NOW here are my Sephora Haul pics plus a couple of other polishes I picked up - this was all from Thursday alone!
2 polishes from Aldo Shoes. I keep seeing these at my Aldo and never get them, figured I'd pick a couple up and see if they're any good. Only $5 so we'll see. This is Marigold-Round and Gold Digger. (I'm a sucker for gold glitter)
Maybelline Color Show. I went specifically for the Denim shade and it was the only one sold out. Oh well. This is Twilight Rays, Styled Out and Blue Freeze.
Pure Ice Bite Me....again, I love my golds!
And now my Sephora pretties. Illamasqua! Not only did they have a nearly full line, but they have the 2 new shades! Plus the 2 others I had on my wishlist. It was a happy day!
This is Stance, Gamma, Nomad and Viridian!
Bottle Shots - Stance, Gamma, Nomad and Viridian.
Oh Viridian - you WILL be my new BFF.
2 more wishlist polishes knocked out - Nails Inc Hampstead Gardens and Electric Lane.
Pretty pretty holo spakles...sigh.
Sephora by OPI XOX Betsey (another wishlist polish marked off!) and a spontaneous Spa Ritual purchase - Meditate on This. I didn't even know Sephora carried this line...before I could only find it at Earth Fare and their selection sucks.
If you have any swatch requests for these polishes, leave me a comment and I'll throw em in the QUEUE!
(Viridian will most likely be used in my next Teal Tuesday post so you don't need to request that one)
