Into Day 6 now of the Nail-Art-A-Go-Go Challenge!
And its another tape mani!
I'm not entirely sure why I did almost a full week of tape manis for the start of the challenge, I remember when I was doing them that I thought this was a huge time waster (the waiting for so much polish to dry) - but I do really love them all, and this one today is no exception. It reminds me of motorcycles.
It's another day of the Crumpets Nail Tarts' 33DC (aka the 33 Day Challenge...not to be confused with the Pepsi Challenge, and certainly not to be confused with omg I feel old for saying that).
Todays prompt is abstract.
And for the record, after yesterdays massive photo editing session to get the OPI Holiday Collection up to show you guys, I was too pooped to polish....so I kind of phoned this prompt in by showing you a mani I had originally done for last weeks Skittles theme, but scrapped it for something else...it's still worthy of a look though because it's a gorgeous polish!

Here is the prompt list, and like I said, this runs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays:

So for todays manicure, Dots, I used American Apparel polishes in Cotton and Lopez Canyon and the Aqua by Bettina, which I won in a rad giveaway by Nory of Fierce Makeup and Nails.
I took this idea from Sarah of Chalkboard Nails, I loved the color palette she used and since I have always wanted to do this random sized dotticure, why not now!? I did change it up and not do all the colors on all the nails like she did, but rather more of a skittle style with an accent. And matte, always matte!
The base here is American Apparel Cotton, which I'd always thought was just straight up white, but it's not! It's actually an off white, kind of like OPI My Vampire is Buff, but less buff. Loved it!
Then I dotted Lopez Canyon on pinky, black polish on middle and Aqua on index finger. I used the backside of a paintbrush that had a thickish handle for the large dots, and then I used standard dotting tools for the other dots.
Then on the ring finger I did a combination of all the colors, just dotting a couple of dots of each color as I was using that shade and then at the end going back in and filling in where needed.
Then seal with a quick dry top coat, give it a couple minutes and go over with a matte top coat (also American Apparel) - so what do you think?
While dots are not my go to, I always love this style on others, so I'm very glad I did it now, I liked it alot, especially this color scheme, so thanks to Sarah for such a great source of inspiration!!

Cool right?! This glitter is clear based with orange and white hex glitters, white bar glitters and then these cool iridescent shifty purple small glitters!
This is a mere one coat over American Apparel Summer Peach
This is an awesome year round polish topper, but it's really great for Halloween - and you have just enough time to get it for the holiday!!
Here you can see better in the blur the purple shift of the small glitters. When I requested this polish I didn't even know about this purple goodness, so it was a really cool surprise!!
My ONLY neg about this polish is the smell. Polishes that come from overseas are not always 3 free so they have a lot of chemicals, this is usually the case with most polishes I get from KKCenterHK and BPS. It's not terrible, smells don't really bother me like they do some - so I wanted to make it known if you are in the smell-no-thanks club!
You can find the polish HERE, but at publishing this polish was sold out! BOO!
You might get lucky and it's back in stock when you read this, in which case...if you use my code you will get 10% any purchase you make!!
WHOA-OH! We're halfway there.....

This mani consists of American Apparel Office, which I picked up in Nashville a few weeks ago - totally heavenly polish!! And I topped her off with Daring Digits Livin' on a Prayer, which I got from a recent giveaway win!
This is 2 coats of Office and 2 coats of LOAP. The glitter in this is somewhat sparse with thick base, so it takes a little work to apply, and I did have a little warping of the base after I applied my top coat, but thats on me, not the polish. Sometimes you just gotta wait!
I love this glitter, it's got these super little electric blue glitters and then this wicked awesome color combo of that same blue, black and chartreuse. Love it!
You can find Daring Digits HERE, though I didn't see this one so I don't know the story on its availability as of now.

Butter London - Matte Finish Top Coat
American Apparel - Matte Top Coat
Hard Candy - Matte-ly In Love
Cult Nails - Wax That Top Coat
NYC - Matte Me Crazy
MASH Nails - Matte
Let's get this Matte Top Coat Comparison underway!
To conclude...
If you want a flat, matte finish, your money is on:
Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love (Discontinued)
And if you want a more satin, semi-matte finish:
I found all of the flat top coats to be pretty much identical, and surprisingly enough, I found the same to be true of the more semi-matte formulas to also be near dupes of each other. At least all close enough that you dont need all 6 of these. But I do!
Drawer 2 of my first Melmer is very special to me.
This one holds all of my Indie polishes, my failed attempts at frankening, my euro polishes and some of my higher end polishes.
Lets get right to it, this baby is packed with pics!
Here is the drawer. After taking pics of all of these, I am surprised it isn't fuller. Then again, last time I looked it was half this full! No idea why that little plastic box in the back has a $ sign on it!
Most of the polishes in this drawer may only be 1 or 2 of a brand. So there's lots of pics!
American Apparel polishes. This is Smoke Dazzle, Meteor Shower & MacArthur Park.
I love these bottles, and the polishes. I need more. I wish I'd been into polish when I worked next door to an AA store!
Butter London. It's getting there...most BL's dont wow me for their price tag, it has to be pretty special for me to drop more than $12 on a polish. But it does happen!
Wallis, Henley Regatta, Tart With a Heart, The Black Knight and Trout Pout.
Catrice! I owe my lovely new friend Angi a huge thanks for picking these up time and time again for me. If I could get these locally I'm pretty sure they would be the most collected of my stash, hands down.
Currently 16 Catrice Polishes.
Cosmetic Arts - never even heard of these until I found them in a Ross store and I loved the neon-ness of them! These don't have names on the bottles, sorry.
My precious Lippmann's!
Today Was a Fairytale, Across the Universe, Happy Birthday, Candy Shop. Sweet Dreams, Good Girl Gone Bad and Yellow Brick Road.
My small stash of Dollish Polish.
Zombie Flesh, Cold Winds are Rising, Random Dancing, Material Girl and Team Salvatore.
Essence.
Where's the Party, Gagalectric, Prism@tic White, Fruitys and a duo!
Hungry Asian - Sneeze Breeze and Sea Creature (these are AWESOME)
See? So Awesome they get 2 photos.
Illamasqua. If they had em at my local Sephora this would be exponentially larger!
Milf, Ranpage, Jo'Mina.
Julep polishes.
Randoms I've picked up at Llarowe. Lynnderella Connect the Dots, Up Colors Azul Arco Iris and Hits Hera.
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaanglaze!
The first bottle is Fatty's Got More Blood but it's in a Fuck Off & Dye bottle (my good friend Taylor gave me this for Xmas, I think they mislabeled some bottles and gave her freebies, so thats what this is, a bastard)
Fatty's Got More Blood, Santorum, Ilf, and Lesbihonest.
Randoms. A England Saint George and Models Own Green Tea.
Nerds.
Nebula, All of Time & Space, Hyperspace Bypass and Largo!
Misc. Indies, Nostalgic Nail Lacquers in Jem and Andie. KBShimmer in Newsprint and Dandy Nails in Funhouse.
Tonymoly. I love Tonymoly. They make some cool stuffs.
Pinky Star, Shooting Star and Mars.
And last but certainly not least, my Whimsicals. Whimsical Ideas by Pam is an Indie Polish I found out about a few months back on MUA. I'm sure if you've been around here much at all, you have seen numerous swatches of her polishes on my chunky fingers! She is awesome and she is blowing up so fast, I am so happy for her huge success, she deserves it, these polishes are REALLY good quality and unique. You can find a link to her FB page on my sidebar--->
From top:
Seuss, Kismets Pajamas, Kee Wee, Saturday Morning Cartoons, Georgia Peach Fuzz, Hatched, Peanut Butter and Jelly, Kitty Glitter, My Friend Carol.
Phew...thats that! I promise I don't think I have so many brands crammed into the other drawers!
