These are the two packages of strips I requested - an abstract peacock design and a fun equally abstract newspaper style design.
For the newsprint design, which are called Love Nail Polish Strips, I used the full design on 3 nails and as an accent I did a 50/50 mani with white and grey and ran hot pink studs down the center.
The strips were identical in application to the recent strips I used by Incoco.
I absolutey ADORED these strips. They are just the cutest thing ever and I have not one complaint about em...$6.89 for a pack of 14 sizes.
Next up are the Peacock Nail Strips. These sort of look like that sugar string design a lot of people like do and that I can't do to save my life. They have bright neon and application was a piece of cakepie.
If I have any complaints on THIS design, its that the eye of the peacock feather on most of these tabs are high up and therefore, if you have short nails like me, it will most like get filed off. But as you can see on my middle finger, it's not like that for all of the nails.
I did add that neon green stud on the middle nail to give it a bit of extra oomph!
Now here are the instructions taken from their website:
- Soak your hands in warm water for 5 minutes. Dry hands, then gently push back cuticles. Carefully remove any excess skin around the nail bed.
- Moisturize your hands with lotion, and wait 1 minute.
- Using a Q-tip, remove any leftover lotion from the nail bed, paying special attention to the sidewalls, cuticle area and tip of the fingernail.
- Select the appropriate sized nail strip for each nail to ensure the nail will be covered from sidewall to sidewall. Using a nail strip that is too large for a particular nail is not recommended; rather, trim the strip twith scissors to the appropriate width.
- Peel off the clear coating, and then carefully remove the nail polish strip from the sticker backing,
- Start by placing whichever end on the nail strip that works better for your nails at the cuticle and apply it by smoothing the strip towards the tip and your nail, smoothing out any bumps and ensuring the strip is tucked neatly into the sidewalls.
- File away any excess nail strip by holding your nail file parallel to the surface you are working on, as filing the nail perpendicularly will cause tearing along the tip.
- After you have applied all ten polish strips, take a cotton ball that has been dipped in polish remover with the excess remover wrung out, and swipe each nail 1-3 times, paying special attention to the sidewalls, tips and cuticle area. This step is especially important, as it melts the strip to your nails, allowing for longer lasting wear.
- Apply a finishing topcoat, and wait 5 minutes for it to dry completely.
As for MY application method, I have a few notes. Firstly, I didn't really think to flip the strip around (especially for the Peacock design) to use a different section. The tab is on the opposite side and truth be told, I'm usually too lazy to trim these types of things so I just use the good end I don't have to mess with.
Also - I did not use the polish remover method to "melt them to my nail" after application.
These are made from nail polish and when I use acetone around the edges to remove any overlap, it melts like polish so I definitely would not want to swipe remover across the strip for fear of the design melting off. But without this method, the strips still stick to my nail really well..trust me, I tried to peel it off about an hour later and it wouldn't budge.
Also I will add a little extra tidbit - try to place the strip in the right place the first time. I noticed that even though it pulls off easily to re-apply, when you pull it off it kind of distorts the wrap a little and makes creases that are difficult to get out once you re-place it on your nail.

Now I do still have a few more Guest Posts that will be sprinkled in through the rest of this month, but overall I am back in the saddle! The last few weeks I have had so much going on that even with my scheduled posts I've had a hard time getting to facebook and instagram to post the daily activities. Then today I was like cool, I'm back, I'm ready to do my nails and get this show on the road. And guess what happens? I come down with some weird thing in my back. At first I thought I pulled a muscle doing absolutely nothing, then I thought based on the location that it might be my kidney...But now I'm told it might be my gallbladder. So I have to keep an eye on the pain the next couple of days and see what happens. So...yeah. Thats why I've been kind of nowhere to be seen but seemingly around?
Today I am showing you 5 different designs I was sent from Incoco of their nail wraps. Given that I haven't tried too many wraps, I was pretty excited to give these a go. Judging from my slightly inexperienced use of these types of products, I have to say I was really pleased.
Here is everything I was sent to review - 5 wrap sets, a buffer, 3 sets of orangewood sticks/files, and an informational pamphlet.
I received 4 sets that were full nail wraps, and then these neon wraps, which are french tip wraps and also come with a set of plain tips too.
Each nail in these wraps have a curved edge for easy and clean tip lines.
Here is a shot of the wrap after the top layer and bottom layer of the wrap have been removed and it's ready for application. They have a nice thinness that makes them easy to apply yet easy to remove if you need to adjust their placement.
And here is what I did with them!
For the accent nail I just cut one of the wraps into strips and made them into a cross, then I outlined them with a black striper polish.
Here you can see how the tips look after you file off the excess from the tip of your nail.
I really loved this pattern, its nice and boldly neon and I thought it would pair well with a naked nail..I've always loved that look but had yet to try it. So now I can check that off the list!
For this next mani I used 3 of the other designs I was sent in a semi-skittle manicure.
Plain neon greenish yellow along with a pink checkerboard design and a blue graphic design.
Application on these was equally easy, and if I had any complaint to make it would only be that the non designed wraps really show any and all imperfections!
And lastly I did a design using the wraps as stickers on top of themselves, by cutting some heart shapes out of the wrap with a craft punch!
My overall experience with these wraps was really, really delightful.
Easy to use, I had no issues with any bubbles or crinkling.
None of these manicures was done using top coat, so as far as how they react with a top coat I do not know. But these were definitely a great alternative to polish and easy for even a supernovice to deal with!
Removal was equally easy - merely use polish remover. They disintegrate and using a non-acetone remover it took about the same amount of time as it would if I was removing a shimmer polish. They will leave some balled up glue residue, so there is just the slightest extra bit of cleanup necessary...BUT since they are made of polish themselves, they clean up easily along the cuticle edges if you have any excess!
