Hey guys!! Today I've got the latest Nicole by OPI and Kellogg's Collaboration. If you recall, these two teamed up last year as well to bring you free polish for buying select/specially marked Special K items. My review of the first set of polishes from 2013 can be found HERE. Well they are back this year, and while the red polish, Challenge Red-y, is a repromote, the other two aren't and they're beauties! Let's check it out!
Anyone who knows me can probably tell you that I am a huge lover of Mexican culture.
I have been for many years and why I've never done a Cinco De Mayo mani before is so weird!
It's nothing fancy - I had leftover decals from my Tokidoki Graffiti Mani so I used one here over a nail polished version of the Mexican Flag.
For this mani I used a base of Sinful Color Snow Me White and then I striped with Red (Nicole by OPI Challenge Red-Y) and Green (OPI Jade Is The New Black).
Happy Tuesday!
Can you believe it's Springtime and we are having snow some places? I woke up to a sprinkling of snow that lasted all day long, which is so abnormal for us here in the south. It was nice, though!
So today I am putting the Indie month on hold, since two things happened. I ran out of Indies so I pushed the rest to tomorrow through the end of the month and am putting this post in today because these polishes showed up yesterday and I wanted to get them up on the blog asap.
I'm showing you today the 3 polishes from Nicole by OPI that have been created in collaboration with a Kellogg's Special K Promotion - you can read the press release HERE about how to obtain these polishes.
Polishes In This Post:
Nicole By OPI - Pros & Confidence (teal)
Nicole by OPI - Be Ama-Zing! (pink)
Nicole by OPI - Challenge Red-y (red)
Bottle Shots of the Kellogg's Special K Collaboration polishes. From Left to Right:
Be Ama-Zing!
Pros & Confidence
Challenge Red-y
I decided to art these polishes for you - they're a fun little easter egg design according to my boyfriend.
I started by doing 2 coats of the Be Ama-Zing!, then I added 2 coats of Challenge Red-y to the top half of the nail only. While I was doing this, I painted the Pros & Confidence on a piece of wax paper, 2 coats, and let it dry.
Once my polish on the nails was dry, I peeled Pros & Confidence off of the wax paper and I cut it into strips using craft/edging scissors in a cute scalloped type design and applied the strips of cut up polish individually to each nail then sealed with 1 coat of Out the Door topcoat! Voila!
These polishes will not be available for purchase, but you can buy specially marked Special K products during April to receive 1 or all 3 of these, depending on your purchases. Again, please check the press release for full details.
Formula on all three of these polishes was pure awesome.
The pink and teal are both almost one coat polishes. The red is slightly more jelly based, but shouldn't take more than 2 coats for full opacity.
I love that they are all creme polishes, it really makes them versatile in my collection as well as pairing all together.
